Hats off to Motherwell should others follow?

  • Motherwell owner john Boyle has just announced ticket prices for old firm games at £15. In the current financial climate its a great gesture for visiting fans, He should be applauded. However should the wealthier Old-Firm follow suit instead of tring to charge smaller clubs a surcharge for selling tickets to visiting fans. Touch of greed me thinks.

  • the old firm are too greedy to lower prices and we are all too daft to not pay them..the old firm will charge what they want and we will still go..fair play to motherwell though x

  • i couldna believe the news report today wi martin bain claiming the surcharge on selling tickets was beneficial to the rest of the spl. i think we should fuckemawwww!!!! and sell the tickets only at our home grounds.

as for lowering prices, it is a good idea, for home AND away fans.

  • Motherwell has done something that is in the good spirit of football.

If both Celtic and Rangers followed suit, that would be a good thing indeed. Fot that to happen, there needs to be less 'money men' and more who are passionate about football and willing to do more for football.

No matter which team others in here support, away fans are crucial to the game.

  • well said people

  • Yep well done to Motherwell, however it is not just the SPL who need to get realistic. £ 12 for a Third Division game is beyond a joke. especially when you consider that Portsmouth are charging £ 20 for their game with Inter Milan.

  • YES they should but they won't there are to many fans wanting tickets on both side of the divide who will always pay for the tickets even if they went to £40 a ticket

  • im a great believer that all games should be reasonably priced for non-season ticket holders. at the same, equivalent price as them.

tickets are not as big a profit as the programmes, food, merchandise etc. thats why clubs at cup games let kids in free with adults - the adults have to buy the kids stuff.

rangers reduced prices this season (i believe celtic did too). in a view i saw online - clubs no longer attract supporters but spectators, and the game is at a loss for it.

kille and partick used to let kids in for pennies and its showing dividends in their supports now.
