My husband and I were married in Mississippi, We moved to flordia 15 years ago. Now he went back to mississippi to work 10 months ago. He wants to sell everything here in Flordia and either I move there or he wants a divorce. I suspect he might have found someone also. He wants to sell everything he owns here from tools, pool table, etc. I just recently lost my job so I have no income. I dont want to move because all my family lives here. From sister to grandchildren. What should I do? Will we have to go though a Mississippi court since he has been there for 9 months? Since we were married there? Don't go to MS until after you get the legal OK.It does not matter what state you are in. If you get a lawyer he will draw up the paper. If you don't have any children you can go to the court house and file for one their but you have to draw up the papers yourself it cheaper. I have a suggest why not move back. You family have their lives and you made a vow to your husband. I know they all live their but you don't have a job or income and eventually they are to start saying things. Good LuckYou can file immed. in the state you reside in. maybe this is why he is trying to make you move. He may have found out that the laws will be in his favour in the new state. Check both of them out. You can do this by going to Fla. Superior Courts Online, Mississippi etc.. Do it ASAP. You can also go to the Law Library in your town.
