College Research Ideas?

  • I have a media class and we have been studying the internet, advertisements, current news/music, web 2.0, blogs, facebook, myspace, Second Life

    I hate myspace/facebook so working on a project like that would be a disaster.

    I wanted to do something more towards advertising...
    our professor hadn't gone in depth into it which I wish she had
    we only did parody ads and effective ad study
    (we even created a parody)
    Any ideas on what I could do about advertising?
    We have to do a powerpoint presentation and a seven page essay
    I love making videos (not with home shot footage)
    so I thought maybe I could add it to my powerpoint

    Any advice on the advertising thing or the other topics I listed?
    We're supposed to provide history and how it affected modern technology, etc.


  • I noticed you mentioned 2nd life. Maybe you can make a project on the way that advertising has affected the economy of Second Life and maybe even create an advertisement of your own and see other players reaction to it, then just record your stream to make a video of it.
